PeriCoach To Revolutionise Pelvic Floor Training

A new technological innovation called PeriCoach is set to revolutionse pelvic floor training in Australia, and then the world.

“Regular pelvic floor training is a clinically proven, non-surgical way of effectively overcoming Urinary Stress Incontinence. For many women the problem starts when their lives are busiest – that’s why staying motivated is hard – and they never reach their full potential,” said Dr Wilson Edwards.

We’ve all heard stories about how common Urinary Stress Incontinence is – we may have friends, sisters or mothers who suffer from it, or be sufferers ourselves. In fact, it affects around four million Australian women, predicted to increase to five million by 2030*.  It’s usually associated with childbirth and menopause, and until now, the message has been clear – it’s normal, it’s common and the best thing to do is use something to help you manage the problem – like a pad. Highly inconvenient for anyone who enjoys regular, high impact exercise.

But not anymore – now there is an Australian innovation that has the potential to help women actually treat their urinary incontinence through regular pelvic floor training.

Imagine having a personal trainer to help you with these muscles on the inside – the ones in your pelvic floor. We all do a guilty clench every now and again – but we don’t know whether we’re doing it right and life gets busy.

About PeriCoach

PeriCoach is a new training device designed to be used by women at home for just a few minutes a day – it’s a personal trainer for a woman’s pelvic floor muscles. It works in partnership with its user to help them get their confidence back through enhanced control of their bladder, with the peace of mind of doing pelvic floor exercises at home.

How it works

PeriCoach is a discreet device that has an in-built sensor, which links to a smart phone app via a wireless Bluetooth connection. By harnessing the availability of personalised technology, each woman has access to real time visual feedback as she performs each exercise. This can then be shared with a healthcare professional, such as a physiotherapist, who can analyse and make recommendations, helping them to stay motivated and most importantly, get the results they are looking for. It’s a compliance device too – you can receive reminders via the app to ensure you stay on track.

PeriCoach exercise programs are specifically designed by leading pelvic floor specialists. Excitingly, PeriCoach is being launched in Australia before any other country in the world.
