Garmin also announced new fashion accessories designed for vívofit and vívofit 2, with the Style Collection and a Jonathan Adler design partnership.

Garmin® epix™: The first of its kind hands-free navigation device

This rugged watch boasts 1.4” colour touchscreen, ability to add mapping, navigation and smart watch functionality. The epix comes pre-loaded with a worldwide shaded relief basemap, a free one-year subscription to BirdsEye Satellite Imagery, plus 8 GB of built in memory for additional maps. Epix also boasts an omni-directional EXO™ steel antenna with GPS and GLONASS support for a quick fix and accurate position, as well as traditional altimeter/barometer/compass functionality. Epix is also compatible with ANT+ sensors like heart rate monitors and Tempe™ temperature sensor for even more data. Additionally, epix supports the Connect IQ™ store for customisation and smartwatch capabilities. With a full menu of outdoor and navigation features, epix allows users to not only track where they’ve been, but plan for what’s ahead, right from their wrist.

Garmin® fēnix® 3: The next smart multisport GPS watch

fēnix 3 is packed with training features to improve users’ form and fitness. When paired with a heart rate monitor, fēnix 3 can estimate VO2 max to evaluate the user’s fitness level, and based on this calculation, predict race times. fēnix 3 can also calculate recovery time and perform a recovery check after intense workouts, so users know how long to rest before their next hard workout to prevent injury. When paired with HRMRun™, fēnix 3 reports advanced running dynamics, which includes cadence, vertical oscillation and ground contact time to improve running economy.

Garmin® vívoactive™ – a GPS smartwatch for the active lifestyle

This lightweight and ultra-thin GPS smartwatch with built-in sports and activity tracking apps. Helping users develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle, vívoactive captures more of their activities with GPS-enabled running, cycling, golfing, swimming and activity tracking apps. Vívoactive is comfortable for all day wear and smart notifications keep users connected with pressing work matters, family and friends. With the new Connect IQ store, users can easily customise vívoactive with free watch face designs, widgets and additional apps. Vívoactive features a sunlight readable, high resolution colour touchscreen and can be accessorised with interchangeable bands to complement any outfit or occasion.

vívofit® 2 and the Style Collection – an activity tracker with interchangeable design options to stay fashionably active

Vívofit 2 encourages users to be consistently active and can be worn 24/7. It features one-year battery life and is water resistant to 50m, so users rarely ever have to take it off. Vívofit 2 monitors progress all day, setting a personalised daily step goal and sending a gentle reminder when users have been inactive too long by displaying a red move bar and sounding an alert. Research shows prolonged periods of inactivity, such as sitting at a desk, decreases the body’s production of fat burning enzymes. Walking for a few minutes will reset the move bar and can help reduce health risks associated with a sedentary lifestyle. The always on display shows steps, calories, distance, time of day and features a backlight so users can easily check their stats day or night. During a workout, users can pair vívofit 2 with a compatible heart rate monitor3 to track heart rate and zone data, or use its stopwatch feature to record timed activities with or without a heart rate monitor.

Garmin® partnership with Jonathan Adler results in an innovative line of vívofit® accessory bands

Featuring several of Jonathan Adler’s signature patterns, the line will have a variety of interchangeable designs available for vívofit 2 as well as vívofit, helping users stay active no matter the occasion. Designed to be worn 24/7, vívofit 2 features one-year battery life and is water resistant, so users rarely ever have to take it off. In addition to a visual move bar on its always on display, vívofit 2 features audible alerts that remind users when it’s time to get up and move. It monitors progress all day long tracking steps, calories, distance, sleep, and features a newly added backlight so users can easily check their stats day or night. During a workout users can pair vívofit 2 with a compatible heart rate monitor2 to track heart rate and zone data, or use its stopwatch feature to record timed activities with or without a heart rate monitor.
