Fitness Australia Announces 2016 #ActiveCommunities And #ActiveAchievers Award Winners

Fitness Australia, the peak national association’s CEO Bill Moore described the Awards as a recognition of the achievements of trainers, instructors and their group exercise programs across Australia.

“These awards represent everything that is good about our industry. The dedication of trainers and the positive outcome for their clients combine to generate an outcome that is the very reason that we all do what we do. It’s the most fundamental expression of what our amazing industry stands for.”

The inaugural #ActiveCommunities Award highlights the Gyms, PT studios and clubs that positively impact the lives of people in their communities through their group exercise programs.

With over 1,500 nominations across two categories the Fitness Australia Awards program has given trainers and their clients a way to share their fitness journey to inspire others.

“This year we heard from trainers and business owners who engage a wide variety of people from pregnant women and older adults, to people living with a disability and people in rural communities without access to a gym,” said Moore.
